Slowly but Surely

The Children's Hour - Marcia Willett
A++

The Lost Girls - Laurie Fox
Try as I might, I could NOT finish this book.

Me Talk Pretty One Day - David Sedaris
Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim - David Sedaris

If you haven't read David Sedaris, do so!

Secret Smile - Nicci French
This wasn't a horrible book, overall, but I absolutely hated her family. And the ending wasn't very well thought out.

Shoot the Moon - Billie Letts

Billie Letts is a phenomenal author and this is another gem.

Never Look Back - Linda Lael Miller
Eh, I don't think I'll read any more of her "mysteries". They are just too stiff.

Sammy's Hill - Kristin Gore
This would make a great movie. Excellent read.

Fire Along The Sky - Sara Donati
Again, this series is outstanding. I can't wait for the next one.

oops

It was just brought to my attention that my last post was repeated FIVE times! Blogger was acting retarded when I made that post so I should have followed my usual procedure and actually looked at the finished product when I was through, but I was being lazy and didn't. That'll teach me!

Quick update

Bad Boy in Black Tie - Lori Foster, Erin McCarthy, Morgan Leigh
Good fluff, has some steamy sex scenes

The Mango Season - Amulya Malladi
Amazing novel. I am fascinated by all things Indian (check out Monsoon Wedding sometime) and this is a very realistic novel.

Bet Your Bottom Dollar - Karin Gillespie
Like the blurb on the back of the book says, " Use your very last bottom dollar, if you have to. Just BUY THIS BOOK. You will laugh yourself sick and love every minute of it. (Jill Conner Browne) I am awaiting the next one!

Night Swimming - Robin Schwarz
This is another must read. Very far-fetched plot, yet so endearing that you are caught up in it.

A Kiss of Fate - Mary Jo Putney
Sort of a historical fiction/romance. Sort of being that the characters all have "superpowers" so to speak. Great book nonetheless.

Lake in the Clouds - Sara Donati
3rd novel in the "Into the Wilderness" series about the Bonner family. I've read all of these and while they are long, they still leave you wanting more. It's one of those stories that you don't ever want to end, along the lines of Diana Gabaldon's work.
